Phu Nguyen is the post-doctoral scholar at the Center for Hydrometeorology and Remote Sensing, University of California, Irvine. He has made great contributions to the development of the Vietnamese Students and Professionals Community in the U.S and worldwide.
Mai Phan ZymarisChief Executive Officer/President
Mai Zymaris is an associate in Foley Hoag’s Business Department. Mai focuses on advising public and private companies on a wide range of corporate matters, including corporate formation, financing, mergers and acquisitions, licensing and strategic alliances, and general corporate governance. Before joining Foley Hoag, she practiced with one of the top tier international corporate law firms in Vietnam for a number of years. Mai earned her Master of Law at Harvard Law School. She is passionate about helping young Vietnamese entrepreneurs navigate through the legal and capital hurdles in order to realize their business ideas.
Hang LeChief Operations Officer
Hang Le graduated from Hanoi Foreign Trade University, with a degree in Economics and International Business. She is passionate about event planning and has experience in organizing events in the U.S and Vietnam. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering and supporting the Vietnamese Students and Professionals Community in the U.S.
Henry Hung TranChief National Round Officer
Henry Hung Tran cofounded a number of startups such as Up coworking space and Volunteer for Education while maintaining an active role in the government. As the representative of Hanoi Youth Union, Henry would like to see more inland Vietnamese startups aiming for international markets. He previously earned a Master's Degree at the London School of Economics and Political Science and served as the Vietnamese Youth Delegate to the United Nations.
Roxy Anh HoDirector of Event Planning
Roxy Anh Ho is a senior at Johnson & Wales University studying Sports, Entertainment, Event Management. As a Helen Brett Scholarship recipient from International Association of Exhibitions & Events, she commits in developing great experiences and making changes for the community through events. Having founded several organizations focusing on education through various types of event, she understand and stay involved with entrepreneurs and also event industry. Her favorite quote is “Dream big. Start small. Scale fast. Do it now.”
Trang DoDirector of External Affairs
Trang Do graduated from Boston University with a double concentration in Marketing and Strategy & Innovation. She has had previous marketing experience with Mercedes-Benz Haxaco Vietnam, Quintessentially Lifestyle and Christie’s Singapore. Post graduation, Trang remains in Boston to work on a lunchbox delivery start up called MOMO and to contribute to VietChallenge 2018. Trang strongly believes in the future of Vietnamese start up ecosystem and VietChallenge’s mission. She is aspired to become an entrepreneur and hoping to move back to Vietnam to start her own business in Ho Chi Minh City in the near future.
Nam LeDirector of Marketing
Nam Le graduated from Colby-Sawyer College with a bachelor degree in Business Administration. Prior to joining VietChallenge 2018, he worked at various marketing agencies in Boston. Nam holds a special interest in fashion and have collaborated as a marketing consultant with several fashion bloggers and models in the Greater Boston Area. He likes long walks on the beach.
Bien HoangDirector of Communication
Bien Hoang is currently the Director of Communication at VietChallenge 2018. She graduated from Drexel University with a bachelor degree in communication and corporate public relation. Her hobbies include in traveling and trying anything new and exciting. Fun fact: when she was in college, she once cooked 100 bowls of Pho in 2 days to raise funds for the Vietnamese Student Association.
Jean PhamDirector of Mentorship
Phuong Jean Pham has over 3 years of experience working with startups, non-profit and private organizations. Prior to her role at VietChallenge, she worked at a PR creative firm in Hanoi, a social enterprise in Bangalore, a nonprofit in Midland and a startup accelerator in Honolulu. Jean believes in the difference that startups can make in emerging markets where the system is still fledgling and has a lot of room for growth.
Ngoc DangDirector of Media Production
Ngoc Dang is a senior studying Media Studies with a minor in Entrepreneurship at Northeastern University. She is currently working on her beauty startup with a strong focus on skin care. While often busy with school and work projects, she likes spending time playing piano and singing.
