Established in 2015, VietChallenge continues to give Vietnamese entrepreneurs from all over the world the opportunity to put their ideas to the test with exposure to both the U.S and the international markets. Continuing our success of past seasons, VietChallenge 2018 will not only deliver on our mission, but also commit to helping to bring the potential of aspiring Vietnamese entrepreneurs’ ideas and products to life.
At VietChallenge 2018, teams will compete for a total prize of $50,000 (with no equity taken). Six Finalists will receive a stipend of up to $2,000 each to develop their products into a Minimal Viable Product. The winner of VietChallenge 2018 will receive $25,000. The Second Place Prize will be $5,000. Four (4) Third Place Prizes at $2,000 each will also be given out. We have made exciting changes to the format and updated our rules for the new seasons, and the competition will be exhilarating. For the first time, we will be partnering up with Up Co-Working Space and the Hanoi Youth Union & Hanoi Student Association to host the first ever Vietnam National Round in January of 2018. We aim to find the best three teams from Vietnam to go straight to the Final Round.
In the Finals, six Finalists will be competing in a live on-stage competition that will be held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The six teams will be judged based on their Pitching Performance and a Product Demo Showcase. By participating in VietChallenge 2018, teams will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with our esteemed mentors from prestigious companies, investment firms and startups accelerators such as the Venture Development Center (University of Massachusetts-Boston), DFJ/VinaCapital (Vietnam), Social Starts (San Francisco), Tie-Angels (Boston), Sai Gon Securities Inc (Vietnam)the Wall Street Journal, Verizon, Duane Morris and Greenberg Traurig; successful startups UserTesting, Skylet, 18moons…
VietChallenge’s mission is empowering Vietnamese entrepreneurs to realize their ideas and take these ideas to the next stage of development. We want to help create startups from the ground up, giving them the opportunities to break through to an international market and become the leading forces of Vietnam’s economy. We are looking for ideas that will address Vietnam market needs and tackle the international community’s challenges in an increasingly globalized economy.
